Sounds don't play on notification (v1.2/10.6.1)

I have sounds configured for notifications of many applications including Transmit, SABnzbd, and Firefox. The sounds work, both system sounds and custom sounds, when I'm setting them up in the PrefPane but nothing plays when the notification launches on screen.

Anyone else having this issue?

Please post a screenshot of the Sounds Effects tab in the Sound pane of System Preferences, using the Upload Attachment feature in this forum.
