Notifications not coming up

I have installed the newest version of growl but for some reason the notifications do not come up. I look under preferences and It says that it has enabled Adium iTunes etc. It has a check next to enable and a - next to sticky. Why dont I get any notifications if someone signs on or off for adium? Why dont I get any notifications at all?

Ya, look at /Applications/Utilities/Console and see if anything Growl related is coming up.

I see something with growl application bridge but I dont know exactly what I am looking for. I can copy paste everything that it says if that will help

Can you quit safari, restart Growl, and see if notifications happen?

I dont think it did anything. I'm not sure how to test it with Safari either.

I AM using custom sound sets. I looked under advanced options and I could change it to make a growl notification come up but I would have to do that with every single one and I know there has to be some other way. I never had to do that with iChat. btw it doesnt work with iChat anymore and it used to with the old version of growl.

iChat requires something to work with it because it's an apple app, so do iTunes and Safari. What are you using for all of these?

All I did was install the standard version of Growl. Nothing more nothing less
EDIT: I just went into advanced options again and I found all I had to do was add gorwl notifications to things that I want. Odd that it didn't do this automatically though. Also what is the difference between a growl notification and a growl sticky?

Ok, what version of Adium are you using? Have you installed the newest GrowlSafari? How about GrowlTunes?

I dont really use it for Safari or iTunes but I'm preety sure I know how to get it working. I am using the newest version of everything. No I dont have growliTunes or growlSafari. Do you know the difference between a notification and a sticky notification? Thnaks for all your help!
