Update notification won't go away

Post by Marjolein »

Since I've downloaded Growl 0.7.3, every time I start my computer, I get a Growl-notification saying: 'Update available. A newer version of Growl is available online. Click here to download it now.' It doesn't fade away automatically, like all my other notifications do. When I click it, it does disappear, but no link to any downloadsite.
Can anyone help me out here?

I'm going to be putting out .7.4 in a few hours, let's try that and see what happens.

.7.4 is out, did that resolve the issue for you?

Thanks, but it didn't work out. I'm still getting the same notification. I guess it will stop when I uncheck the 'automatically check for updates (daily)' box, but that doesn't solve the actual problem. And I won't know when Growl is updated. So, do you have any more ideas?

Stop Growl, move the ~/Library/Application Support/Growl folder to your desktop. Do the same for Growl plist in ~/Library/Preferences/

Then start Growl and see what happens.

The only Growl plist I could find was the com.Growl.GrowlHelperApp.plist. Did you mean that one? In that case, when I restarted Growl, nothing happened. Same for restarting my computer. That was yesterday. Now I start it again after it has been off since yesterday evening, and there's the notification again! :(

Ok. Now it's trying to be unpredictable. Sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not! It's driving me nuts!
