Growl 0.7.5

Post by The_Tick »

We will be releasing Growl 0.7.5 within the next couple of weeks. This will be .7.4, but with some small fixes, and some new extra(s).

I think I read in another topic that this one'll have positioning control; is that right? (It's the one thing I'm really lacking in the current version...)

No, this is a minor release, not a major release.

Nano requires the new display positioning controller, and a few other things. It's also very untested.

Bummer, I can always build from svn. Does it work in there yet? (possible vanishing home directories, computers, and small towns accepted since it's svn :cool:)

It should work, but I haven't used it honestly. Rudy has been hard at work on it when he gets time.

Several days ago, The Tick said something about how Growl development is currently halted until after WWDC. They're waiting to see if Apple will be implementing something like Growl in Leopard, and if so they'll be updating Growl to simply redirect all Growl notifications to Apple's thing.

Interesting. I've not seen any rumours or speculation that Apple will include a notification system in 10.5, what has caused belief that they may?

The popularity of Growl and the usefulness of a notification system. :grin:

I've heard a rumor about it a few times. In reality though, I've been busy over the last month with a new project, and decided that if I didn't have it out by this week I'd wait until after wwdc.

Flogging this dead horse I'd like to state that I'm 98.76% certain there will not be a 0.7.5.

Advance to 1.1, Pass Go, Collect $200 :shock:
Try my software!

#define QUESTION ((2b) || (!2b))

0.7.5 is trivial to release... we really should do it to have a 0.7.x fully universal stable version out there.
