I've been having problems with network notification if my laptop (the receiver) has been away and come back--notifications don't always seem to arrive. But recently I experimented with forwarding notifications to multiple machines. I'm using AppleScript to send a notification (incoming call to PhLink). The notifications aren't showing up for almost a minute on one of the machines, and not at all on the other. I finally switched to sending them manually with Net::Growl, which worked fine, although it doesn't have all the functionality.

Any thoughts on why Network notifications are so slow?
