Adium won't show up on my Applications list. How can I fix it?

I had that problem and I got Growl to register my apps by checking "start at login" in the Growl preference pane and logging out of my user name and in again. Since the preference pane said "Growl is running" it didn't occur to me to check that box and see what would happen. So you could try that, if you haven't already.
