Cyberduck is a lovely ftp/sftp solution, It has unexpected crashes sometimes, but I love its simplicity and its integration in OSX, that's why I keep it.

but something pretty dangerous happened twice :

- I select a file (let's say index.php), and use apple-J to edit it directly in Textmate (this is why I love cyb+textmate )

- I edit it in textmate, and use apple-S to save it,

- I get an error message from cyberduck : "permission denied", but..

- On the server, the file index.php is now empty. 0 byte :(

This never happened before the last update, although I used cyberduck/textmate quite intensively for 6 months now.

I don't know precisely what to do with that information, so feel free to ask !

solution found

I solved this issue by removing the "change permissions" in upload/download , in the preferences>permissions panel.

Given the risky behaviour of cyberduck (and I think i'm not the first one unchecking those options to solve an issue), wouldn't it be a good idea to disable those options by default ?

See ya !

This is a serious bug which is tracked at http://trac.cyberduck.ch/ticket/974 and has been fixed since. Will be in 2.7.2.

thanks!

Please release the fix soon, I've lost 3 very important files because of this bug (and lost hours recreating them). I've since downgraded to 2.6.2, but that version is acting buggy for me now too. :(
