VERY simple question, but I am new to this

Post by allmanjoy326 »

Hello All,
I am a small business owner and I am simply trying to upload updated files onto my website. The problem I am having is I simply do not know how to Open a connection to my website. I am sure that this is very easy, but I have never learned. I am using iWeb to make my site and I am trying to insert a paypal button so people can make purchases on my website. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

Your question is unclear. Have you downloaded and installed CyberDuck? If so, you should be able to connect to your web host by following the CyberDuck instructions.

Have you uploaded to this website before? You need to know your host's ftp address, the username, and the password.

Post back with the basics and I'd be happy to help you further.

I totally sympathise with the question and the answer made me laugh.

Years ago, using only a handful of college course books, I taught myself to write applications in Pascal, C and other languagues, including assembly languague routines, and I produced the world's first functional applications packages in more than one market sector. But I can't make an FTP connection.

Some people are taking something important for granted.

I was completely confused, too. No CyberDuck tutorial was clear to me...I don't speak this language!! I was able to find a page online that walked me through it step by step. I hope it helps.
