I"m about to show some serious ignorance of this entire topic, I"m sure, so please bear with me here.
I am able to ftp fine to my site. But i want to make it a secure transfer, which I thought I could do since I now have an SSL certificate. Does that make sense or do they have nothing to do with each other?
I've tried SFTP and FTP-TLS but i'm not sure which is what. I've googled them and searched here, but what I find doesn't make sense to me.
i have firewall but i allowed the correct port. the connection fails whether or not the firewall is active.
i enter http://www.candleshopcreations.com as the server (i tried ftp instead of www, no go), my same user id and password i use for ftp. then the error says DNS Error: Connection failed, then below in red, connection refused.
do i have to do something on the server side? any help is appreciated!
on another note, where on earth do i get rid of that "wet and harmless" line under my name? it just showed up there.
thanks,
Andrea
