iWeb + cyberduck = big problems !!! Can somebody help me ???

Post by silex »

When I publish from iWeb, they give an index.htm and a folder containing all the pages + index.htm + dependant files.
Then when I use cyberduck,
I drag and drop the whole folder + the index and it gives me a blank page.
Is this what you have to do?
If not please can somebody tell how you need to proceed?
I'm sure there are many other people who have the same problem.
thanks a lot

Yes I had the same problem.

Only upload the CONTENTS of the site folder not the site folder itself and also NOT the index.html file that is created outside that folder. There are other index files contained within it, which are part of the contents you will upload. let me know how you got on.

Can someone help me? I'm using iweb and cyberduck and I'm meant to have defined a particular file as a public server. I'm not sure I did it and don't know how to amend it now.
Really appreciate some help with htis.
TIA

I was having the same problem last night . . ., I found an article saying sometimes the problem is with the images that have spaces between words, where it should be an underline for html language, and a page where you can download a plug-in for the iweb to do it for you - http://www.brokenropesoftware.com/iWebF ... ility.html.
It helped me!! Then I tryied not to put the index page, but like that my site wasn't reconized, so I did another try with it, and then it worked - more or less. . . still some images not loading, and depending in which browse the site is opened in, the problem gets bigger... So, good luck, I'm still trying to have my site complete for my clients...

jbleisure,
thanks a lot for your info,
but when I put all the content of the folder without the index,
it still gives me a blank page.
So I don't know what it is,
it might be my server, but I don't think so because I have already a website on the same adress and it works, so........
could you or somebody help me?
thanks a lot
adios !

[my site is on now - completely. I put the files and the index page. the index page is what reconize your site in your servidor, so it is essential, not only the main index, as the 'little' index of each page you have in iweb. You should put all the content - the files and the index pages. Good luck! Just to chear you up, once you get the first time, the rest is easy. Congratulations for the program. It is really great !
