Is it ftp, sftp, or what?

Are there any error messages?

Let's get the typical things you would usually provide to someone who would be helping you out of the way first. :)

this is ftp - i know i have put in the right webhost and right website address because before i wasn't and i couldn't get to a certain point. now i'm at the point where it will ask for my password but it won't accept it. i know my password is right because i use it to access my yahoo account.

It's nearly the same…

like my problem, two threads below (and no answer yet):

Everything is filled out correctly, but when I try the login, the programm tries the handshake and then an error window appears:

LOGIN FAILED!
login incorrect

In the window i can read the correct user name, so i enter the password again,
but after that the window appears again.

This happend with 3 of 4 accounts on the same server....only one works properly.
All settings (ecept user / password) are the same.

Another FTP client works properly. Maybe it's an Problem with the keychain?!

This sounds like http://trac.cyberduck.ch/ticket/1231. Make sure the password field looses focus before clicking 'Login'.

Thanks, David, for the de-focus workaround until 2.8.1 arrives.

Your link for Ticket 1231 <http://trac.cyberduck.ch/ticket/1231> fails because it picks up the trailing period.
