I'm able to connect to my ipower hosting with cyberduck but when I try to transfer files/create directories/etc the actions always fail. I switched to passive mode which ipower recommends but it hasn't made a difference. Any thoughts?

With what error message do they fail? Maybe your hosting provider only allows one single connection. Then you should try the setting Cyberduck > Preferences > Transfers > Use browser connection.
