Hi,
Cyberduck is a great program, thanks for your effort programming it. When the sync option works I will donate some money, I promise.
My problem(s):
1. I can't find a detailed documentation for the sync feature.
2. I select a remote folder on a network drive (NTFS) and want to sync it with a local folder on my Mac. In sync preview I select upload to inspect the files that are supposes to be uploaded. Non on the check boxes is selected and they are all grey-ed out, so I assume that non of the local files are copied to the remote location. Is that correct? If a file in a subdirectory would be copied, would I then see a black check box respectively an upwards arrow beside the folder name?
When I select download, then some check boxes are marked and appear in black. Also I see an arrow pointing downwards and a big plus sign. So I assume that these files are copied to my local computer. Is that correct?
If I add the file sizes given in the sync preview, I arrive at 1-2 MB, while when I press continue, Cyberduck wants to download 125 MB !?! Can somebody please explain what happens there? Do I misinterprete the sync preview? Don't I see all files that are downloaded?
It would be wonderful if I could rely on the sync tool of cyberduck. In the moment I am too worried about my data. Help is very much apprechiated.
Best regards from Zurich,
Kurt
p.s. I just realized that I only run version 2.8(3257)
Please explain how the Sync feature works
hi,
I had problems as well using the sync option for a long time and each new release didn't fix it. Checking for newer files was often not working properly to me (this with different FTP servers, so it should be a general problem).
That's why I started using another FTP client instead of Cyberduck at the end. But I really like the duck and I will turn back to it and donate some money too when the sync thing will work properly and securely...
(PS: remember I even did not test the last releases, may be now it does?)
Hope someone else will help.
