Cyberduck painfully slow

Hi,
I have been using Cyberduck for several years and love it. But over the last week it has become painfully slow, so much so that I thought it had frozen but patience revealed that it was just taking ages even to acknowledge a simple selection click.
I have updated to the latest version in the hope that this would fix the problem but it made no difference. Not long before I started having this problem I updated my copies of Textwrangler and Firefox to the latest versions, has anyone had conflict issues with either of these?
Cyberduck runs better with no other applications active, but still much slower than it used to.
I am running an Apple G4/400 PowerBook with OSX 10.4.11.
Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated.
