Cannot access any file or folder with spaces in the name

Postby nathanm » Thu May 08, 2008 4:03 pm

Cyberduck will not open or download ANY file or folder with white space in the name. The request for the filename is cut off after the first space and returns an error message like so:

CWD /home/ftp/pubuser/scangroup/Rush Car Shots
550 /home/ftp/pubuser/scangroup/Rush: No such file or directory

CWD /home/ftp/pubuser/microscale/100 ton 2nd Drafts
550 /home/ftp/pubuser/microscale/100: No such file or directory

CWD /home/ftp/pubuser/microscale/Flush Deck Flat Cars
550 /home/ftp/pubuser/microscale/Flush: No such file or directory

The files and folders are shown in the window, but I can't get to them. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Is it Cyberduck? Proxy server? Encoding settings?

Thanks for any clues anyone can provide. I hope I am missing some big obvious thing that's set wrong. Files and folders without spaces can be used without a problem, but if there's a space in there it errors out every time.

I just uploead and downloaded several files with spaces in the names and no trouble.

Maybe the files are corrupt and did not upload properly or try renaming them without spaces and then download.

But as far as it goes, in 3.0, not troubles with spaces in the names.
I did it, I sawed the legs of the periodic table.

This looks like http://trac.cyberduck.ch/ticket/1678. Can you post the response to the

Code: Select all

SYST
command from the transcript. (View > Toggle Log Drawer).

I am using PSFTP and I just found out that doing a simple cd "Name Of Dir With Spaces" (including double quotes) works fine for me. Idk if this applies to Cyberduck but just wanted to post it in case it helps someone.

All the best
