Cyberduck 3.0.1. won't launch

Postby CHCG » Mon Jul 21, 2008 4:11 am

Having upgraded to Cyberduck 3.0.1. on my Intel-Mac running MacOS X 10.5.4., Cyberduck suddenly won't launch anymore. Anyone else experiencing the same problem? Any cure? Your advise is much appreciated.

I am having the same issue with MacOS 10.4.11 (G4). What previous version should I download or is there a fix coming?

Make sure you install the Java Update available in the System Software Update.

I'm also having the same issue - has anyone been able to fix this yet? Opening the app from terminal gives me the following error message:

LSOpenFromURLSpec() failed with error -10810 for the file /Applications/Cyberduck.app

Using Leopard 10.5.4

Warmest regards,
LD

It seems the problem is with Java 1.6 which Cyberduck doesn't support because it apparently breaks Cocoa applications. I solved the issue by using Fugu instead (http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/fugu/ if anyone's interested)

Does anyone have a link for Java 1.5 that works with OS 10.4.11(PPC) ?

(Can't use Software update, not connected to internet)

It seem I must be having the same trouble. I posted yesterday, "Newbie Trouble Installing". Can any of the esteemed programmers help with a fix?

I had a very similar problem with 3.0.2 on my Intel MacBook Pro with OS X 10.5.4 (and 10.5.5) (OS X Console showed issue to be 9/22/08 8:59:32 PM Cyberduck[756] Unable to find class: ch.cyberduck.ui.cocoa.CDMainApplication, exiting ).

This happened because I had "manually" switched the system Java version back and forth between 1.5 and 1.6 by changing symlinks in /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions . I had accidentally linked Current -> 1.5. When I changed this link back to Current -> A, Cyberduck 3.0.2 started working again.

Cyberduck requires Java 1.5. Small chance you might have done this too.

I am fairly new to Mac. I checked my Applications directory and did not see Java listed at all. I must have it, right? Where do I check to see if i have Java? :???:

I have Consol Message for my Crash

Postby jake123 » Mon Oct 06, 2008 1:28 pm

Running on a g4 recently upgraded to 10.4.0 (yea behind the times)

Current version 3.0.2 Immediately aborts when launched, error message issued.

2008-10-06 06:03:54.691 Cyberduck[280] NSJVM: No matching version for 'JVMVersion' (1.5) in 'Java' from Info.plist
2008-10-06 06:03:55.382 Cyberduck[280] Unable to find class: ch.cyberduck.ui.cocoa.CDMainApplication, exiting

Looks like I may need to upgrade my JAVA??

My system profile for fresh 10.4.0 upgrade

JavaVM: Version: 10.0.0

Found 3.0b3 somewhere, it runs on my system (though not tested yet)
