Cyberduck keeps remembering old passwords?

Postby lloydi » Tue Feb 03, 2009 12:25 am

This is a little odd but probably quite a simple one to solve ...

I recently changed several of my passwords to really long (hopefully) difficult to crack passwords. I do, however, like the little yellow duck to remember these :-) The problem is that the duck is remembering the old password. When I get the authentication failed message, I overtype with the new password and, for good measure, uncheck then recheck the add to keychain tickbox.

Every time I open Cyberduck it keeps going back to the old passwords.

I have uninstalled Cyberduck (using AppZapper) and have removed a bunch of entries in Keychain. Reinstalled again and the same thing happens.

So the question is where exactly is it remembering this info from?

Appreciate any pointers on this :-)

Have you tried removing the originals from 'Keychain Access' ?

Open Utilities> Keychain Access and in the name column look for the Name or IP of the server you're trying to connect to. Highlight it and delete it from the list, then using CyberDuck try reconnecting as you were before with the new password and Keychain Access option on.

It should now remember the new password everytime. =-)

You could also try removing the com.apple.keychainaccess.plist from the prefs folder before doing the above, just for good measure.
