Hello. I have troubles starting Cyberduck, it seems I have messed something trying a new installation of Java. When I try to start it, console, says

Code: Select all

23/05/09 16:25:34 /Applications/Cyberduck.app/Contents/MacOS/Cyberduck[479] Java requesting shared archive generation, version 1.5
23/05/09 16:25:34 /Applications/Cyberduck.app/Contents/MacOS/Cyberduck[479] Java is sending command '1.5' to updateSharingD
23/05/09 16:25:35 [0x0-0x3b03b].ch.sudo.cyberduck[479] -[NSJavaVirtualMachine initWithClassPath:] FATAL: cannot initialize ObjCJava. Exit
23/05/09 16:25:35 com.apple.launchd[257] ([0x0-0x3b03b].ch.sudo.cyberduck[479]) Exited with exit code: 255

The strange thing is that the java -version command outputs

Code: Select all

java version "1.6.0_07"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_07-b06-153)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 1.6.0_07-b06-57, mixed mode)

So it seems that Java is running fine. Can anyone please help me?

You must have version 1.5 of the Java VM installed for Cyberduck to run. It will not launch on the 64bit Java 6 VM. If you update your system with the latest Java Update available from Apple Cyberduck will run.

Java 1.6 is the first preferred (set through Java Preferences.app), but Java 1.5 is enlisted too, so it should load when 1.6 fails...

I should add that Cyberduck was working until two days ago, and I already had Java 1.6 set as first...

Moreover, I moved Java 1.5 32bit on top of the list in Java Preferences, and it's still not working.

Well, then you sure will have problems with the release of macosX 10.6 because it will only contain java 1.6 (6), BUT both in 32 bit and 64 bit versions.

I have today, using the latest WWDC release 10a380 tested it with Cyberduck and can report that Cyberduck fails to start, this happens both with 32 and 64 bit 1.6 java.

See http://trac.cyberduck.ch/ticket/3039 and http://update.cyberduck.ch/nightly/alpha/ for the latest 10.6 compatible build (64bit).
