Listing Directory Problem

I've been using Cyberduck for some time now but suddenly it has developed a problem. When I try to log on to any of my servers it connects ok and then tries to list directory, this does not work and it eventually times out. This used to work ok in the past and I havent made any changes to my computer. Does anyone know what the problem is?

I have the same problem. I've sent a bug report.

I've fixed the problem now. It seems the problem was down to the OS X firewall. Apple must have done an update which must have stopped Cyberduck communicating with the internet.

I opened port 21 (by enabling the FTP access option) on the firewall and this seems to have fixed the problem.

That didn't help me. I opened for FTP access in the System Preferences, but no change. It surprises me if it has something to do with this. If I open my firewall for FTP access it only makes it possible to access my computer via FTP. It doesn't have anything do do with me accessing another site with FTP.

But the problem is solved anyway. I got a respons from D. Kocher. He asked me to try the latest build of Cyberduck to see if the problem was still there. But it wasn't, so now everything works fine again.

Here is the link for the latest build: http://update.cyberduck.ch/nightly/

Hangs at "listing directory"

I am now having this problem.

In the past I was able to switch from Passive to Active for some sites and it solved the problem but with several sites recently it has not.

I log in fine but when it gets to "LISTING DIRECTORY" it hangs.

I looked at the log and this is what I get:
SYST
215 UNIX Type: L8
PWD
257 "/" is current directory.
NOOP
200 NOOP command successful.
CWD /
250 CWD command successful.
PORT 0,0,0,0,229,128
200 PORT command successful.
LIST
150 Opening BINARY mode data connection for directory listing.
And that is where it stops and hangs till it times out.

I tried downloading the most recent build (7/15/06) but it doesn't help.

I've tried turning on and off the preference for "send 'list -a' command" and none of these things help.

Any suggestions?????

Thanks

I am still having this issue with some FTP sites. I'm running 2.6.1 of Cyberduck (will up to the new version when they get the server situation fixed) and have tried everything I can to fix the problem but it still happens.

Directory Listing Timeout

I am having the same issue, and think I can shed some light on the issue.

The directory I am trying to list is hosted on a windows NT . However the FTP directory is HUGE (both deep AND wide). I can login to the same directory using a PC based FTP client, so I suspect the problem is caused by either a windows protocol conflict or the algorithm that Cyberduck uses to cache the directory listing.

This is a high priority bug in my opinion.

I am available to test release candidates if you need me to.

Here is the output log:

When I try to list a directory on any of my servers Cyberduck doesn't times out, but it takes up to 30 seconds to list even a directory with a few files.

First I thought it was a problem with the server I'm connecting, but I get this slow directory listing on two server and other ftp apps don't have this problem.

Any hints what could be wrong?
