whats your answer to the problem

well i video chat with many of my friends that are at various colleges and I used to use iChat, how do you guys video chat and still use adium??

I think most use Adium for chatting and then go to a video chat client when video is necessary.

well i'm not that much of an idiot i did use the search feature, and I did go to that site. It still doesn't tell me what most people do when in the same situation as I am in (use video much of the time and still want to use adium for chatting) i just don't like having both ichat and adium open so i get double the messages ect...

They use either iChat, Mercury, or aMSN.

If your looking for a play by play, here ya go:

1. Your on Adium and someone says you want to audio/video.
2. You say, "ok, let me switch programs." Here you will do Status > Accounts > Offline in the menu bar, to avoid conflict with the two programs.
3. Start up iChat, Mercury, or aMSN.
4. Open a chat window with this person and click the audio/video option.
5.Enjoy the chat.

I actually have my iChat to sign on a different AIM account (just my normal one with a 2 at the end) so that I can log in without conflict. I set this up back with Adium's file transfer was weaker, but I just use that account to video chat when necessary.
