Running in Rosetta?

Post by ajmas »

Does anyone know how to run Adium using Rosetta? I want to check to see if an endianess issue is affecting something in Adium, but I need Rosetta to help me verify this.

Note: I tried following the instructions at Apple: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303120 , but Adium doesn't have the checkbox. It is present for other apps, such as DVD player.

I can't recall why we did this -- anyone else? -- but we disabled Rosetta running. I suspect it had something to do with preventing problems with PPC-compiled non-universal plugins.

The Info.plist file in Adium.app/Contents/ (which is Adium_2.plist in adium/Plists/ in a source checkout) has this entry:

Code: Select all

	<key>LSRequiresNativeExecution</key>
	<true/>
Remove it, or change it to <false/>, and the checkbox will be available again.
The duck still burns.

Thanks. BTW I noticed that you need to copy the changed adium elsewhere, otherwise the Finder does not note the change.

I think Joscar might be the reason, for this flag, judging by the startup.
