er...i mean....just talking about the profanity filter, it seems that its not that simple as it sounds? i really would like this because Growl kinda...puts everything they say right on the screen...lol...so yeaaa...

It's relatively simple. It's just not going in 1.0, because nothing new beyond what's already there is. <edit> Also because nobody has volunteered to do it</edit>

couldn't you do this in the webkit styles code to be going on with?
It already shoves code in on images and stuff.

This would only alter display, not content, which would not alleviate the issue as noted with Growl.
