AIM/.mac reversion to libgaim?

Post by smn987 »

Adium is notifying me of the available software update to 1.0b16, and at the top of the list of changes is "Switched back to the libgaim OSCAR library for AIM and .Mac connectivity." I'm aware that ICQ was switched back from joscar to libgaim a few versions ago because of problems with offline messaging and nickname retrieval (among other things?), but aside from being unable to retrieve buddy icons, AIM has been working just fine for me, at least since the major problem back in August was fixed. Given the improvements that came with moving from libgaim to joscar, I'm reluctant to download the new beta and lose those. Does anyone know why this reversion was made, or when joscar might be restored?
