Using .gif's as Buddy icons
I've tried using several of the GIF's i used to use in AIM to no avail in Adium. Does adium not support animated gifs yet? Can you guys add that to the next release?
Thanks,
John

I have set a gif as my icon, and it only shows the first frame.

Re: icon
same problem I'm having. I already had the whole thought of setting it in the host application, but kinda knew that wouldn't work... tried it anyway.. didn''t work.phoenix2005 wrote:I have set a gif as my icon, and it only shows the first frame.

I doubt Adium supports them yet, it'd be cool to see them in the next version though.

Yeah it'll work as long as no icon is set in Adium, and it's not grabbing an icon off the Me card of AB with AB Integration turned on.zaudragon wrote:Kind of, except Adium might override it with the one it already has…Tipo 61 wrote:I believe, if you set an animated .gif in the official client, Adium will support it.

The SVN does use an image well, which does work except that transparency translates into black.lordoftheoats wrote:This is because the Apple Image Picker, or whatever it is, does not support animated GIFs. This has been discussed recently, and until Adium uses a different method to select images, or Apple updates it, not much progress will be made.
Never tried it with animated GIFs

haha. Totally happens to me. I eventually figured out that if I'm working on a problem for an hour, I need to walk around for 10 minutes and drink about a half gallon of coffee to fix the issue, heh.evands wrote:*grins* I woke up in the morning and realized that I'd been going entirely in the wrong direction and that the solution was staring me in the faceThe_Tick wrote:And you thought you wasted time on sundayevands wrote:*proud* Animated GIFs of the right size (48x48 to 50x50) will now work in .80 when dropped on the image well from the Finder.
