I'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature but emoticons do not show unless they have a space on either side. For example :P would show but /:P/ wouldn't.
It didn't happen in the previous Adium (0.89.1) but does in 1.0. If it is a feature I can somewhat understand why it's been implemented as you can get text (particularly code) that has SomeWord:Probably and an emote would unwantingly appear.
Is it possible to fix/have an option to turn this off?
Thanks.

Not that I'm aware of, from all the instant messengers that I've used on Mac and Windows :/ has never been converted into an emoticon.djbsquared wrote:This is on purpose. Otherwise you would have emoticons showing up everytime someone posted a link because colon-slash is an emoticon in almost every icon set.
I still prefer the old method where if an emoticon did appear unintentionally, you could just click on it to see the text.
I've noticed that emoticons side by side with no spaces (i.e. (wave)(clown)) work fine, so there must be some filtering that allows that.
Seeing as how this doesn't seem to warrant being an option you can toggle, is there not any way to hack a file inorder to revert the way it used to be? Perhaps use some files from 0.89.1 in 1.0?
