First off: congrats on the new Adium 1.0! It's GREAT!
However, in the Privay Settings I set my ICQ account on privacy level "Allow only contacts on my contact list" yet Adium seems to forget this setting.
I still occassionally get bugged by people not on my ICQ list and when I return to the Privacy Settings (after a reboot or restart of Adium) those setting have reverted to something else than "Allow only..."
Is this a known bug or should I be doing something else?
I'm also having this issue. I want to only accept messages from users on my contact list, but Adium is currently incapable of remembering this setting, regardless if I set it for all services at once, or one at a time.
Otherwise, v1.0.2 is pretty solid, and is an excellent application.
Hm, I upgraded to 1.03 but it still forgets the settings and I still get requests on ICQ from dodgy Russian types.
I set it to "Allow only contacts on my contact list" under Privacy Settings, but after a restart or offline/online action (I keep my machine turned on/sleeping most of the time) it is back to "Multiple .... are active".
And people that are not on my list can send me stuff (this is basically an ICQ problem).
It's just annoying, not a really big issue for me.
I keep getting spammed by various 9 digit UINs wanting me to look at their porn site or do something in some unreadable (to me at least) asian language.
Is there any way to block new authorization requests? I believe GAIM/Pidgin on Windows let me do this.
This thread is over a year old. I'm on Adium 1.2.4 now, but I still have the exact same problem. After a sleep / reboot / offline-online by Adium, the privacy settings revert to one that allow ICQ Russians *not on my contact list* to try and add me or annoy me with spammy messages.
So, is there *any* way to get Adium to remember the setting "Allow only contacts on my contact list"?
Hi. I'm bumping this, since the last couple of weeks are absolutely horrific with ICQ requests from Russian spammers.
The problem is as described: I can block them by changing the setting but it doesn't stick. Each requests take me multiple clicks and screens to deal with. I have a very low ICQ number (an Israeli friend pointed me to the service way back when) so I might be more popular than others, but still... can anything be done to make the setting permanent?
