cannot upload folders, using SFTP

Post by jhouston »

I am using SFTP to access a Debian server and I am having trouble copying folders to the server. From the Finder I drag a folder to the Cyberduck window (which is already connected to the server) and it appears to copy all the contents of the folder. When I look inside the folder on the server, however, it is empty.

I am using Cyberduck 2.7.2 and OS 10.4.8 (Intel).

This is a known issue (see http://trac.cyberduck.ch/ticket/1001) fixed in the latest nightly build at http://update.cyberduck.ch/nightly/

It still does not work

Post by roblui1 »

I downloaded cyberduck release 2822. Still, when I try to upload a folder with sftp, it copies just the folder (with permission 000) then I get a "permission denied" error for all the files inside the folder, which are not copied.
Any help?

Same here with SFTP … but also with normal FTP. When I upload a file/folder it gets Permission 000.
Also when change Permissions to 755 in the Preferences is activated.
Version is 2831

Thanks

Fixed as of 2832. You will get notified about the update when you are running the nightly build shortly.

I dowloaded release 2833 and it works perfectly. Thank you very much for the very quick fixing and your work. Cyberduck is the best client out there!!

I have the same (?) problem on the current cyberduck!

Post by craigen »

I've used cyberduck to update web pages on our server for a couple of years and find it the best tool yet, but one of the recent auto updates appears to have removed a critical function for me and left me with what appears to be exactly the problem described in this thread.

Above we're told the problem was fixed as of 2832, but I am using v. 2.8 (3257).

I'll add that it is reluctant to CREATE a folder by drag and drop, or recursively (IE adding new folders in folders I'm uploading -- it will add only new files). I have to create every folder explicitly. I'm not sure whether it's properly uploading the contents of folders inside folders I'm uploading either...but I think all the problems I'm having surely boil down to the basic problem here.

I am using OSX.4.10 on a MacBook Pro, and trying to upload to the same server I've been uploading to for a couple of years, a SUNbox running RedHat Linux. As far as I can tell none of my folder permissions have changed at all since folder creation worked by drag and drop (last I had used it was about 6 months ago, and in between there has been at least one update).
