contact list settings

i was told earlier that there use to be an option where the contact list was able to be set to the desktop, and was asked whether this option was still available.

Does anyone know what this muppet was on about? i think he meant you couldnt accidently move the contact list, and it was more like a couple of names on the desktop.

Does anyone remember this option? and is there anything like this on the new version?

Being on the desktop means it is blow anything else on the screen. It is in advanced --> contact list, Show The Contact List: Below other windows.
