Bug: Multiple logins if online status is changed in advance.

Post by rinto »

Not quite sure how to describe this, but I'll do my best:

I'm hitting a problem in 1.0.1 where if I try to change my status before going online (say: setting to invisible from some other status like "Available"), login windows appear for ALL my IM accounts. Every single account (I have seven) puts up a login screen. Only one should do this.

Hope this is clear. It's very irritating: I often want to start up in a predtermined invisible status, and now have to click through 7 dialogs when I set this at the beginning of a session.

"invisible" is a status that only applies to online accounts, so attempting to set invisible will log in the account it's being set on. If you want to just set it for one account, you can use the account specific submenu of the Status menu.

I'm sorry, but I can clearly state that this is a problem that only cropped up with the 1.0.1 release. I was using the beta for months before now and never had this problem occur.

I'm certainly not the only user here who would want or need to be able to set their status as invisible before going online. There is no reason in the world, except from a programmer's standpoint, that doing so should now cause multiple login windows to appear. This never happened in the very long time I used Adium before the current version's release.

Please pause and try to consider this from the user's perspective: with the greatest respect for what you guys are doing here, what's developed recently is a royal PITA.

Thank you.
