19 or 20 is not old. The 20s are the prime years. You know I have to admit I didn't get the orwell joke ether. I guess their is a such thing as being too clever for your age. I turn 19 this weekend (happy birthday me) and I am most certainly not old.

2 years 'til you're legal bro. Then you can hit up Lucky Baldwin's in Pasadena!

Happy birthday!

Eh, shut up all you youngsters! Why, in my day, we didn't have to worry about spam -- we didn't even have email! Kids these days...

Or with Vikings. They can get rather loud, you know. I try to dine in Viking-free areas.

I've read like five books in my lifetime. But know it rings a bell, that book could be the one they mention on TV a few weeks ago and I tought to myself "I'm gonna, no I MUST, read it". Obviously I forgot...

Don't think so, I was chattin' and using this on a friend, and all my friends got MSN. It was like 2-3 years since I used the app that had this feature. I tried searching for it but I couldn't find anything about it, maybe they have removed this, lovely & fantastic, feature?
It's not a bug. It's an undocumented feature.

...Rendezvous is the only protocol I'm aware of which supports this (besides UNIX Talk), and Adium doesn't have support for it at present.
The duck still burns.

How about the future? Or won't this ever be implented due to privacy?

No idea. Burn that bridge if ever we come to it. I'm not particularly a fan.

Is there a way to ensure that other clients CANNOT read what we're typing?

Didn't something similar come up when we found out that you would be notified that a buddy was typing a message to you before you've recieved any messages in the current session?
I believe the feature was taken out because some saw it as an invasion of privacy, but then it was put back in because it's a feature of the protocol.

To me it's a feature. One that Adium should support if the protocol supports it. Yes there should also be a preference to turn this off (maybe even off by default).

Wll WebKit support this?

Type in TextEdit and copy & paste.

Sure, never send it :)

Adium does not send any information as your type except typing/entered text/not typing, if supported by the protocol.
