GTalk and Adium

Post by adrockn »

My apologies if this issue has already been discussed... I did try searching.

I am currently using Adium X 1.0.1 on a 12" PowerBook G4 running Mac OS X 10.4.9.

I have been using Adium successfully for quite some time (and really enjoying it...thank you). I use it for AIM, ICQ, MSN, Yahoo! and now trying GTalk.

My sister uses GTalk through GMail on a PC (I think). When I am logged on using Adium, we can see each other. I can see her connect and disconnect. When I send her messages, she sees them. She says she has been responding, but I never get her messages. I have tried this while being logged on and logged off in GMail. It doesn't seem to make any difference.

Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks!

Do you know which browser she is using? I remember having a similar problem when using opera. Maybe she should try using firefox (if she isn't already).
I have no clue what else it could be, i am chatting quite freaquently with gmail chat users and never had problems.

Do you receive her messages using the Gtalk web client (Gtalk through Gmail, in Firefox or Camino)?

I am new on Adium, and I have the same problem- I can write and send message, but I can't receive message.

I have my Google account, all preferences I had put well..I have read all about settings , well done, but problem is still present...

I am on MacOS last one...
I have read somewhere to register an AIM accout, but I am not sure it will solve problem..

Is there anybody who has solved this problem?
