would it be possible to use skype through adium in the future, is this something beeing thought about? I sure would like to see that! Even if it would be without voice just to send im and files and see when contacts are online.

This question needs to be added to the FAQ I think.

Adium won't be getting Skype support until the libgaim guys manage to figure out the protocol - and that'll take a fair bit of time, unfortunately.

I don't want to use the official Skype client because it's made by Shaman Networks and it installs all sorts of little programs.

How can i follow what happens with libgaim. Would like to see if any work is beeing done on the skype protocol. The page i found makes it look like the libgaim guys are on a serious vaccation. (http://cia.navi.cx/stats/project/adium/libgaim)
Then i guess skype will never be in adium.
Thanks Arenzera for the info, but whats up with that Shaman spyware thing? Would like to now more about that, you have any good sources? Don´t want to recommend my friend to install sth that isn´t secure.

I believe that is just the libgaim utilized in Adium(notice it is in adium). libgaim itself is separate from gaim. A common mistake is to think because gaim has it, adium could too(not saying you made it). But I'm not sure how to follow libgaim itself.
