Hey RedNano--

I just got Adium today and I had the same problem with one of my yahoo accounts. It was because I had a space in the name. I took the space out and it worked like a charm.

I'm having a similar problem in that my screen names contains an _ as in john_doe@yahoo.com Kopete and Trillian seemed to work ok with it. Is this Adium Specific?

tokennrg, enter your name without the @yahoo.com at the end. Your specific problem has already been fixed for Adium 1.1, which will ignore the '@yahoo.com' if it is entered; Adium 1.0.2, the current version, does not have do this.

Spaces aren't valid characters for Yahoo names; Galindorf, are you sure your proper Yahoo name really has a space in it?

Hello, I've the same problem. I always get the error "Invalid screen name", when I try to login. Other messenger does not make any problems (ICQ, MSN, AiM, Google-Talk...).

I've tried it with the yahoo-messenger itself and it works out...

The preferences:

Servers: cs.yahoo.co.jp
Country: Argentina (I came from Germany, but I don't think, that it is important, which country one choose there (my own is not mentioned there))
Port: 5050

I also tried it with @yahoo.com and without.

I use Adium X 1.0.2 and Max Os X 10.5.9

Have you tried Yahoo! Japan - it looks like you're trying to use that.
