Here is a good idea for sometime in the future:
Considering that we have control of both the app and the Xtras site, it would be possible to implement a system that checks the Xrtas site for updates to your Xtras and downloads them if necessary.
Catfish Man and myself have had long discussions on how we could manage this. The current step is still "It'd be neat if..." but I have the feeling that sometime in the future it'll get implemented, but it's a huge, sweeping design change so don't expect it too soon.
