Allowing unknown users to IM you

Post by farmerbobb86 »

Is there a way I can allow only people on my buddy list to IM me? I keep getting those stupid porn IM's and I am tired of them.

Any help will be apreciated.

I believe if you set the privacy settings to "Only allow contacts in my buddy list" in iChat, Adium will respect it, not positive though.

Hmm, you can set these privacy settings in the official AIM client as well.

You may be able to get iChat back if you have the system install disks your computer came with, and a freeware program called Pacifist.

I am not totally sure what pacifist does, never had to use it, but i believe it lets you extract things from your software disks.

Here is the article about it:

Hope this helps

Just use the offical client, it's much easer. I also think theirs a way to get iChat off the disk without any additional software. I bought pather sepereatly from my computer and on disk three their installers for all the additional software including iChat.

Actually I believe Laura made the jedi adiumy (right?). Way back when, people got mad at me for making an icon out of it because someone else already had.

Hey, I wasn't tryin to sound mean  that's why I used the :)

I could make you a farmer duck, if you'd like. Or, if there's another of my ducks you like (that's not already being used) let me know and I'll send you an avatar-worthy file.
