Quick IM Shortcuts...

say your friend is the third person from the top in your buddy list. One should be able to hit something like command-shift-3 so you can im them and not have to double click on the name. Or maybe preset combos for names that you designate

Or even better - Id like to be able to type a persons name when the contact list is selected, and Adium should automatically select the person i type. (Have to hit enter to open chat-window of course)

Way more versatile.. :D

Dude, that exists.

Try pressing some characters… or maybe this is a 0.8 feature?

command+N does autocomplete, but I meant in the contact list, hold a letter and the buddy starting with that letter is selected.

Yes, typeahead in the contact list is a .80 feature. You could do this:

Command-Tilde (swap windows) or Command-/ twice to get the CL in front.
Type the first few letters of the contact's name
Press return to open a new message window.
