Insert link to activate page in Safari

hey
The message window has a button for "insert safari link"
this doesnt work.
if i click i get the web page Link title and sends with no link.
how do i send a url in the format like:
http://forums.cocoaforge.com/posting.ph ... wtopic&f=2
as opposed to see the web page title.
should pc user on icq and AIM be able to click on my Link Text and get the url?
i like how the icq on mac sends a url with safari. just right click.
help. i need to send url's fast & easy

Please read the Stickie thread's title: this isn't an Adium forum. Moving to the right place...

So, it does send the actual link. It's just formatted with the name of the page, so that you don't see the address itself. Anyone can still click the link and it will take them to the right place.

My experience is that it always does send links. Perhaps there is a bug that I am unaware of.

As of Adium X 0.8b3 r10400, it definitely works, so either it "already" works or is fixed for the next version.
(Edit: this using AIM for both sending and receiving.)

this feature has worked properly for me for a long time. what protocol are you experiencing this trouble on?

sort of worked on msn, but people told me as of .77 that the actual link text sent, not the custom text.

Well I think you're using ICQ so…

ICQ doesn't really have good support for AIM-formatted messages; a LONG time ago I saw this bug where ICQ displayed the HTML code instead of the actuall message.

developers. please allow optiion to send full URL instead of link text.
(i.e. http://www.apple.com instead of link text)

even in beta version icq users can link on text. nor does veri chat IM on my palmone treo 650 see the link text.
