Two quick questions;
Is there a way to 'check email now' in the Adium latest beta?
Is there a way to see yourself in the contact list like in microsoft messenger where you appear on top of the contact list?
thanks in advance.
2 questions.
1. it's in the events, so it's somewhere or in the makings in beta 5. i don't use hotmail and therefore it doens't work anyhow with my account, but it might work with hotmailers.
2. well.. you can add yourself to your list and see yourself on the list. is that what you mean? or do you mean some space with yoru own nickname and such?

Regarding 2: Yes, thank you very much, that is what i meant. Its nice to see which name I am logged in under, as I often change it to something silly.
I did what you said and its perfect.
Regarding 1: Yes, I know it checks email automatically, and I also know about the events functions. But it would be nice with a one click check button or something similar in the pull down menu.
Thanks for your time and help.

okay, there is no button. i didn't knew that. maybe they can make a menu option in the duck menu to check any incoming mail on associated contacts like hotmail with msn.
another thing you may try is writing an applescript. this applescript asks you to go to the email page when you receive a new email (you can let it run in the events) or something. maybe you can even design it in such a way that it log on automatically or have the webpage remember your password. this is only a workaround.
in my opinion it is rather half baked if they notify you of a new email but leaving out the option to click somewhere to get to that email. but that's the developers last call. i think a click to the email wont make it a chatclient.
