Bug?! Adium crashes with my ICQ account

Hi there,

since i don't know where to put my problem, i just post it here - maybe someone have some experience with it.

Since i had to reinstall Adium, it crashes with 100% cpu usage after succesfully connecting to the icq server. The icq contacts are loaded and one or two seconds after that, Adium gets 100% cpu usage and thats about it. The weird thing is: Adium only crashes with my original icq account/number. When i try anything else: change icq account, use msn/aim protocoll etc everything is fine. It -only- happens with my actual icq account/number. It cant be an account problem tho since it does load the contact list and the "original" icq program works fine.

Anyone knows what that could be?! I tried everything... i deleted -all- icq and/or Adium files (in Library/Application Support/ etc), i installed every Adium version available - i ve done everything i could think of

So guys... anyone got any ideas what i do/try?! I really hate to use the original icq program instead of my beloved green duck

Hi! Today I installed the new Adium's version: 1.0.5. Similar problem. The connection at the beginning was working fine but when someone was trying to send me messages, Adium crashed. After this, I had got the same problem as you: "sorry, you have tried to connect too many times to the server, try later" (or sth similar!:)). My solution was easy:
- I uninstall Adium,
- I trashed the .plist preference files of Adium and
- I trashed the directory "Adium 2.0" you should have in YourUsername/Library/Application Support/Adium 2.0.

Now everything is working and I'm able to chat with all my friends. I'm completely agree with you about the original ICQ for MAC: it's disgusting! Bleeee :(:(:(:(

ps. Which version of adium are you using? I have MAC OS X 10.4.10 Italian version.
