Add Group Chat / Rooms to Buddy List?

is there anyway to add a group chat / chat room to a buddy list?

i made a few persistant rooms using our Jabber server... but it seems to join the room you *have* to use "File -> Join Group Chat..."

is there really no way to make it a bit easier? if the room showed up as a buddy that would be great. or even a separate group bookmarks area.

i tried adding the group manually as a buddy (eg testroom@groupchat.domain.com) and that did not work.

i'd love to be able to make a few persistent project-specific group rooms for different people at work... but if they have to manually join it just means no one will use them.

This is being worked on for 1.2. It works in the latest code but has some fairly serious issues.

Any luck on this making it into a release in the near future? This is a feature I'd love to have, in one form or another, either as a buddy on my list, as an auto-join, or even both.
