In Adium, I had set it to be on the background, and if I used expose to view my desktop, I could see adium part of the desktop, and click on contacts. This was awesome.
But in Leopard, if I still have it set as on Desktop, and do the same thing on Expose, Adium moves offscreen as well!!
Leopard expose and Adium....
Interesting - i'm experiencing something similar, but the other way around:cheesy wrote:In what I suspect is a related problem, I can't seem to make my contact list sticky across multiple desktops using spaces; It works fine for the message window but the contact list remains on a single desktop
My contact list remains on every desktop, but not messaging window is bound to one specific.
Yeah mine is the same as this! Means Spaces is turned off for me atm.Skade wrote:Interesting - i'm experiencing something similar, but the other way around:cheesy wrote:In what I suspect is a related problem, I can't seem to make my contact list sticky across multiple desktops using spaces; It works fine for the message window but the contact list remains on a single desktop

I found a ticket about this in trac, to which I added some details of my investigations:
http://trac.adiumx.com/ticket/7862
The bad news is that the devs think it's a leopard problem. Based on what I saw, I think the problem may actually lie with adium's tab implementation but if I'm wrong (or the devs disagree), I think there's essentially no chance this will be fixed.

to sort of move this topic back to the intial complaint I had.
Adium 1.1.4 :- In a clean install of Leopard if Adium is set as Behind Window in Advanced in Preferences, and using Expose, I do Show Desktop, Adium slides to the side with all my other windows.
Adium 1.0.4 :- In in a clean install of Leopard if Adium is set as Behind Window in Advanced in Preferences, and using Expose, I do Show Desktop, Adium stays on the desktop while all the other windows move to the sides.
The functionality in 1.0.4 is good. It allows me to quickly see Adium and send an IM even if I have a bunch of windows open.

The way we did this was never supported by Apple, and has been changed in 10.5. Unless we can work out a new way to do it, it won't be returning, since it breaks things.saury316 wrote:to sort of move this topic back to the intial complaint I had.
