AOLsystemmsg???

Post by bcmedley »

Just recently I started receiving the following IM from aolsystemmsg

Your screen name (*myscreenname*@mac.com) is now signed into AOL(R) Instant Messenger (TM) in 2 locations. To sign off the other location(s), reply to this message with the number 1. Click here for more information.

I don't even have an AIM account... and the screen name is my .mac account...

Any help?

thanks... sorry for the dumb question...

but while I am rolling dumb questions....

So.. does that mean that somebody is logging into my .mac account somewhere else or is there another app that might trigger that log in. Adium is the only IM program I am using. I also have an iphone - would that trigger it when it checks for e-mail?

This happens when Adium crashes or you suddenly lose your network connection. My guess is that your previous connection to AIM doesn't time out but the AIM server lets you log in with the same username again, resulting in your account seeming to be open twice. I just hit 1 and that logs off my first session without logging off my current one.
