1.1.3 deletes existing accounts and won't create new ones

Post by ranathari »

I'm running 10.4.10 on a C2D MBP.

I've repeatedly tried to move from 1.0.5 to newer versions but every time I do, Adium deletes all my accounts and refuses to let me create new ones. I've tried every release since 1.0.5 and they all do the same thing. The screenshot below is from 1.1.3.

If I click the status menu-bar entry then there's no drop-down menu. If I wipe Adium from my system with AppZapper and then re-install 1.0.5 then everything works fine but upgrading to a newer version or installing a newer version from scratch produces this bug. It's seriously annoying!

edit: my previous accounts were for Google Talk, AIM, and MSN.

Check the logs in/Applications/Utilities/Console.app

That looks quite messed up.

Does it run okay if you run it directly from the .dmg?

Running it from the .dmg produces the same problems and the same output in Console.app

Is your Console paste the entirety of the output from launching Adium?
The duck still burns.

Yeah. That output is the same every time I try to install or upgrade Adium past 1.0.5 or 1.0.6. There's nothing after it or before it related to Adium; Adium doesn't crash and I can exit it normally, it just doesn't retain any of my account information or let me create new accounts.

Problem solved! I verified and repaired permissions and all of a sudden Adium 1.1.5 installed and worked without a problem.
