Growl and system events- DHCP

Post by rvfrueh »

I did some searching, and can't seem to find an answer to this, though I apologize if it's been answered before:

Is there a way to trap system events, in particular DHCP /AirPort changes with Growl? I'd like to see when I've connected to an access point and what my current address is, and when I've switched to LAN, and things like that.

Right now, in order to know, I have to go to the Network control, and check what my IP is, and that it did get one from teh local DHCP.

Thoughts? Am I missing something obvious?
I'm not a programmer or scripter anymore, but I'm not loathe to do so to get this, I just have no idea where to begin, and Growl seemed like a good point.

Thanks,
Rich

Try HardwareGrowler in the Growl Extras folder on the Growl DMG.

OK, that's pretty much exactly what I wanted, and as a bonus, it finds my USB connects...

Sweet!

Too bad I didn't fully check the disk when I had it mounted for the initial installation. My bad.

Thanks,
