How to use the new "bookmark group chat" feature?

Post by rickross »

I was excited to see that Adium 1.2 is supposed to have a new "bookmark group chat" feature, but I can't figure out how to use it? The only relevant discussion I found is in the Trac database at ticket 7836, and it says nothing about how to use this new feature.

I have a Jabber group chat that I would like to be able to enter more easily, so I would love to know how this is supposed to work. Even better would be support for auto-joining bookmarked group chats when Adium starts!

Anyone know how?

Thanks,
Rick

having the same problem here.
full ack on auto-join.
What else is quite annoying: If I close a group chat and re-join it again later on I get all the messages again and the screen is flooded with growl notifications (if this is activated) because all of them are marked as new - even though there is already a history available from this group-chat. And for big chats this takes quite some time.
Proposal: Check if a history for the group chat already exists and if so just add the "new" messages ("new" = messages sent that are newer than the newest msg in history) and display them as new. Example: Skype (unfortunately doesn't support offline msgs). Hmm probably should have opened a separate thread for this.

Exact same sentiments. I'd love to be able to auto-join a jabber group chat, so I was excited to see the bookmark feature. But I can't figure out how to use it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to add the "Add Bookmark" toolbar item to your message window toolbar - there isn't a menu item for the functionality yet.

How exactly do you do that?
