Is GrowlMail working yet?

Post by mcoad »

Apologies for starting yet another thread on this, but I’m confused by the others. Please, is GrowlMail working yet or not on Leopard? Like others. I’ve recently upgraded to Leopard and am getting no Mail notifications. Other notifications are working fine - Skype, OmniFocus, to name two - but not Mail. I’ve reinstalled GrowlMail several times but to no avail. On other threads there’s a “temporary” workround script from some time back and other suggestions, but I’m unclear whether GrowlMail itself is supposed to be working with Leopard by now or if this is an occasional bug which I and others are being hit by. It’s a huge drag as Mail must be the single app that Growl is most useful for... Enlightenment, por favor!

Yes, I saw that. But it’s dated October 2007 and some other posters have given the impression that GrowlMail is working for them in Leopard and the latest Mail update. It also says that “Mail requires plugins to be updated” but doesn’t say whether that is happening. Hence the confusion, unless I’ve missed something along the way. But from what you indicate here, I conclude that GrowlMail is not yet available for the latest versions of the OS and Mail. Here’s hoping it comes soon.

Unless we (the Growl team) release an update and indicate otherwise, don't infer anything that others say, as they are usually going out of their way to accomplish something that we recommend not doing (as you already saw.)

Absolutely. Thanks for the clarification. Power to you and looking forward VERY much to the update. Growl is superb - Apple should pay you loadsabucks and make it part of the OS - and when it goes down you sure miss it, especially in something like Mail.
