Name/Status in Contact List without the ugly

Hey,

I've been looking for a way to achieve something totally aesthetic with Adium. This is what it looks like right now: http:// gavinsmith .ca/lj/adium.png (sorry, remove the spaces (that rule is just to prevent spamming, right? if not, I appologize))

What I'm looking to do is ditch that top header. The white area. I know that can be done by selecting an option other than 'regular window', but that gets rid of the display name and status options from that contact list. I want to keep those intact. I can't find a way to do this - essentially match the top with the rest of the theme.

Does anybody know of a way to do this? I'd appreciate your input!

Maybe if you explained the problem a bit more that'd help. Right now I just see a screenshot of adium there.

Right, maybe so.. I've outlined the area I'm talking about in red on the same image (http://gavinsmith.ca/lj/adium.png). What bothers me about it is that it just does not blend in with any of the contact list itself - I prefer dark themes and that top area is just totally white regardless. See what I mean? I'm looking for a way to integrate the features that that area does give me as-is - the display picture changeability, display name access, and status drop-down - into the theme that's selected for the rest of the contact list. In the case of the theme being used now, that top area would need to be much darker to 'flow' with the list visually.

Does that make sense? It is a little hard to describe.

Is it possible to use the borderless window mode without seeing the group headings? All my contacts are in one group ("Individuals") so borderless window mode leaves one list with the title "Individuals", which is not quite aesthetically pleasing.
