Connection Problems With MSN

Post by Name101 »

Hello
I've been looking around for a MSN alternative and this looks perfect..
but the problem is that I am stuck with logging on MSN. i can log onto Gmail. but MSN is stuck
on 12% (logging on) or 50% (synciing with server) and just hangs at one of those points

I am using 1.2.3B1

Wireless internet.
my MBP software version is labeled here.
System Version: Mac OS X 10.5.2 (9C2028)
Kernel Version: Darwin 9.2.1

and i have modified some settings and been playing around with the settings.(after I relised I had this problem)
Can some one post working login server?
and Port.

If there is any more information needed just post.

~Regards

The default login server and port work fine; you don't need to change them.

Try enabled "connect via HTTP."
The duck still burns.

I'm getting the same issue with 1.2.4.

It was all working yesterday before I upgraded to 1.2.4.

I'm stuck on the "connecting (12%)" message!

I have the tried the "connect via HTTP" option, but to no avail.

Yes, I have the same problem. Sometimes it says, "handshake failed". Also, I am having the same problem with googletalk. I tell you, I am finding, the past two months, that 1.3b9 is a pain in the buttcheeks. I love the facebook/etc. additions. By why can't msn log on properly and consistently. The problem with gtalk (a.k.a. googletalk is that it keeps saying connecting... and it autheticates, up to 75% then it just peters out. And then maybe gives a message in the bottom bar thing that says "handshake ssl failed." It is getting frustrating, because it has been about 1 and a half months and they still haven't fixed this problem. As a matter of fact, the problem, which started with msn, is now a problem that belongs to both msn and googletalk connections.

Please file a Trac ticket with your problem and with your debug logging, as per http://trac.adiumx.com/wiki/ReportingBugs.

First I've heard of this issue. Again, please file a Trac ticket with debug logging.
