Please Help - iweb 08 and Cyberduck, page not loading

Post by dmaria »

Hello!

I am new to this website malarky so please bear with me! I have used cyberduck to add my iweb 08 website, but when I go to view the page online it always just says 'page not found' - i've tried different variations of the ftp address (as shown on my hosts, BT, instructions), but nothing seems to work. Am I doing something completely wrong, i'm literally just dragging the whole folder that iweb creates (which includes the index.html file) to cyberduck, into the 'public' folder - but nothing is showing up.

Any suggestions and help would be greatly greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sometimes you have to change the attributes / ownership of your public folder, so that it actually becomes accessible by the public, i.e. by people accessing it from a browser instead of someone logged via FTP in using a password and all. I would talk to your admin or check the documentation of your web server service to find out if this is the case… (If that does not help you might have to tell us more about what kind of server / public folder you are uploading your website to.

Thanks for your help- i have managed to figure it out now, basically I needed to take everything out of the folder that iweb created and THEN put that into the Public folder, I was previously putting the entire folder in!

Thanks Again
