I am having problems using public key authentication in combination with a passphrase.
I can log in fine with my private/public kay pair when I have no passphrase, but when I set a passphrase I get a "Publickey authentication failed".
Since this works fine for everyone I know I think there must be something that's off in my case. The problem is I have no clue what for and where to look.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
SFTP with public key auth passphrase failure
Re: SFTP with public key auth passphrase failure
I am having exactly the same issue. Works fine with fetch and interarchy.
Did you find a work around?

Re: SFTP with public key auth passphrase failure
Ahhh, I'd missed the critical part where I had to go into the bookmark/connection and specifically select public key encryption. Fetch and Interarchy detect this automatically.
Once I toggled the check box and selected my private key it worked fine.

Re: SFTP with public key auth passphrase failure
I wish mine was that simple...
I have selected the correct public key, as it works fine when I take off the passphrase. Does your setting work with a passphrase?

Re: SFTP with public key auth passphrase failure
I have a similar problem since I changed my private key, because it was corrupted. I have generated a new private key and public key and secured them with a passphrase. If I connect on the console per sftp or ssh, I got the question of the new passphrase and everything works fine, but NOT in Cyberduck.
Well, I hope to get things working with changing the cyberduch properties to not use the keystore but no difference. Cyberduck don't want the new passphrase and don't work with the keystore (see properties).
Is there a cache or can I clear the bookmarks of the "old" invalid passphrase and private keys?

Re: SFTP with public key auth passphrase failure
I'm still struggling with this issue, to the point of wanting to completely erase cyberduck and starting with a fresh install.
Tips on how to save bookmarks are appreciated, as well as what to delete to remove all preferences/references etc. Especially those concerning stored passwords and key settings.
